‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime’ Anime Adaptation Gets Released This Autumn

The rising popularity of Isekai stories has resulted in some quite exciting announcements recently (Batman Ninja, the Youjo Senki movie just to name a few).

Young protagonists transported to alternative universes by being a victim of mysterious magic or dying right at the beginning of the series only to get resurrected right away. One thing is very similar in all of these anime: the protagonists keep their bodies, most of the time their memories and special abilities, even personal belongings as well. However, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime) flips the well-rehearsed plot as the name suggests, the main character gets turned into a slime creature.

Satoru Mikami, the protagonist of the Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, gets killed by a robber, and the resurrects as a slime monster and takes the name "Rimuru Tempest." Then with his newly gained abilities, he starts to work towards the ultimate goal to become the strongest slime-being the universe.

Apart from this short snippet, not much is shared about the adaptation of writer Fuse's and illustrator Mitz Vah's story, but as it was announced, more details are coming at a later date.
