The Best Winter 2018 Anime According to Japan’s Largest Mobile Phone Operator

As the climax of the winter 2018 anime season approaches it is time to take a look back at the most satisfying series. The season was a real treat for anime fans as apart from the expected and awaited sequels, and they could enjoy some great originals among the most popular titles. But the usual question persists! Which anime series were the most popular, hilarious, heart-warming and soothing this season?

Therefore Japan’s largest mobile phone operator, NTT DoCoMo released the results of its latest online poll on the winter 2018 TV anime. The survey revealed the best anime in four categories: most funny, Moe, exciting, and heart-warming anime series. Fans could vote through NTT DoCoMo’s anime streaming service, dAnime Store, and around 3,800 votes were collected between the 23rd of February and 2nd of March.

The Most Laughable Anime

  2. Yuru Camp (Laid-Back Camp)
  3. Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san (Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles)

  5. Ryuuou no Oshigoto! (The Ryuo’s Work is Never Done!)

The Best Moe Anime

  1. Yuru Camp (Laid-Back Camp)
  2. Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card
  3. Ryuuou no Oshigoto! (The Ryuo’s Work is Never Done!)
  4. Gakuen Babysitters (School Babysitters)
  5. Zoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru

The Most Exciting Anime

  1. Overlord II
  2. The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments
  3. DARLING in the FRANXX
  4. Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line
  5. Ryuuou no Oshigoto! (The Ryuo’s Work is Never Done!)

The Best Heart Touching Anime

  1. Sora yori mo Tooi Basho (A Place Further than the Universe)
  2. Gakuen Babysitters (School Babysitters)
  3. Ryuuou no Oshigoto! (The Ryuo’s Work is Never Done!)
  4. Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card
  5. Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line

Also for the more representative and unbiased results, the votes were separated by gender as well. This way, Pop Team Epic took first place in the most laughable category according to both female and male voters. Gakuen Babysitters turned out to be the best in the Moe category according to females and Yuru Camp by males. Women chose The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments as the most exciting anime, but men opted for Overlord II in this category instead. While Gakuen Babysitters was again the most heart touching anime according to female fans, male participants selected A Place Further than the Universe as the winner of the category.
