Comment Policy

So you want to talk about anime right? Or even manga? You’ve come to the write place! At Anime Harbor we love talking about anime, and we can get into some pretty heated discussions. All opinions are welcome, but not all words are accepted. Now, you want to share your love of anime? All we ask is some pretty self-explanatory things upon commenting, for example:

1. Make sure to have a specific question

When you make a new discussion, make sure to give other Anime Harbor readers something to talk about and focus their sharp minds. Be eloquent, or at the very least, passionate. Some good examples of questions:

“Hey, did you see the new episode? Where do you think it’s going next and why? What was the MC thinking when he did this?”

A not so good example would be this:

“Hey! You think this was cool? I think it’s cool. Cool!”

While we appreciate the energy, we would definitely like some good thought put into each word and sentence. While we’re on that topic…

2. Stay on topic

This isn’t just a rule (well it is), but it’s also an act of kindness. When your fellow Anime Harbor reader posts something, and then you digress, it makes them feel bad. If you decide to put a post, and then your fellow member decides to talk about another show, wouldn’t that upset you? So please, stay true to the course. Some leniency is allowed as long as you get back on-topic within your next comment. After all, this is a community and we understand you want to connect with other people.

3. Don’t be a jerk

Pretty self-explanatory. While cursing is permitted, too much or needless vulgarity will be dealt with accordingly. Don’t insult others, say inflammatory remarks, be sexist, you get the drill.

4. Don’t spam

The biggest problem is one-word responses. They will be deleted automatically with no warning whatsoever. Massive spaces and obviously troll-esque comments will be given a warning and then deleted. Continuing to this will result in a ban.

5.Don’t post things on the ban list

Ban List:

  1. Links to fanfiction.
  2. Any form of self-promotion which include: Drawing, product placement and blogs (even if anime related).
  3. Overly explicit images/gifs/videos which include: Excessive gore, decapitation, nudity, hentai, and other explicit images.
  4. Don’t post cartoons or video games.

6.Use tags properly

Try to make them uniform with other topics so that other Anime Harbor readers have an easier time searching for what they want.

7.English only

Another self-explanatory request.

8.Help out other Anime Harbor readers

If you see someone post something similar, guide them to that discussion. Also, please flag any and all comments that are obvious infringements. However, if you’re not sure, just leave it alone. We will do our best to get to it.

Discussions will also be auto-closed after 16 days, or whenever the newest anime episode/manga chapter comes out. This is to keep things flowing smoothly. Please don’t put manga spoilers in anime episodes, even if someone asks.

So once more, welcome and enjoy your stay. Welcome to Anime Harbor!
